Kids First!
My age is showing & yet I don't want to consider myself old, The flu really knocked me clean off my feet, But I have now found my feet again & am building up energy quickly.
I have sent my first lot of work with TLC into my Tutor & wait eagerly for its return.
This week: I have had kids all week, not just my two but my sons friend & my nephew as well, they are keeping each other entertained most of the time, but when they have had enough of each other I have been giving them cookie dough, hardest part is waiting on the cookies to bake of course. They are little works of Art within themselves when they are done!

Today has been filled with surprises, I got two parcels in the post today, one was for my daughter Tegan, A stunning purple stone with Tinker bell on it from Maree Newman who has a small business called Simply Stones they are stunning, Tegan was so happy!!
The other was one of my swaps from an art guild swap, I was lucky enough to get one of Tanya Dann's Tie Bags, it is funky, I have already emptied my handbag & filled it ready to go. :-) I am looking forward to receiving my other one as well from the swap, I put two in & get two others back, all decisions are made for us as to who gets what, & every year I have been stoked to have someone else's Art hanging in my home, well this years is even better I get to cart Tanya's beautiful bag around with me. :-)
All baking & gifts aside, the NZ art guild has a exhibition in November at the Bruce Mason Centre of small art artworks, all Art will be 250x250mm so I have been working on four pieces to send up to that, All will be based around the Music theme I have been doing, music has been one thing that has kept the passion going for me lately, things have been hectic, Hard & trying most days but all is released when the stereo goes on & I am in my space with a brush in my hand. 3 of the 4 to go are done now, & will be busy on the forth at night for the next week, once the kids are in bed & there are no likely interruption's.
I am pleased to have my brushes back again, 90% of the course work I have done so far has all been pencil though I don't mind pencil, the picture does not happen quickly enough for me, I have a short attention span obviously.
Into the sculpture side of things this coming week..... so watch this space. :-)
